ive had a 3 month old kitten for about a week now. Hes very playful and wont stop playing until he cant even keep his eyes open which is kind of a problem because of i stop playing to try to sleep he just jumps on me and paws at my face, but if i put him in his cat carrier he cries and wont stop. if i leave the room even for a few minutes all he does is cry! i know hes a kitten but how do i train him to stop this behavior? and yes he is fed plenty and given alot of attention but he always asks for more... please help!

  1. I second the suggestion to get another kitten.  They will entertain each other, especially when you are gone.  And hopefully they will keep each other busy, when one might be destructive and claw furniture, etc.

  2. Yeah, you do have to try and stop it or you will only get worse.

I would try working it up, first leave for a min then 2, then 3 and so on.

  3. Try getting a few different cat toys. You do not have to break the bank, my cat likes small stuffed toys, bread ties , string etc.. you get the idea. Leave them out for the kitten to play with after showing him/her what they can do with them. It will take some time but after awhile, the kitten Will play with the items when you no longer want to play. Try not to use your feet or hands as toys, I did this and for awhile I could not move while I slept, the cat pounced on them. lol Limit your play to the toys.

  4. Perhaps you could consider getting another kitten to keep him company? Seriously, it might help. Then they could play together. My first cat did well when we got a second.
