Question:

Help with my lazy eye?

So i have perfect vision in my right eye but bad vision in my left. My left eye is a "lazy eye" and has blurry vision.

I'm 14 right now and i've tried wearing glasses, patching and everything but i got no improvement.

So i'm wondering is it too late to correct my lazy eye? Will the vision in my eye worsen when i age? Will patching have any effect?

Help, what can i do to correct my lazy eye?

  1. It is hard to say if it will get better or not. Doctors will try to do everything in the book to try and help it. The only think I would say it follow everything that doctors says word per word.

  2. Hello..I have a similar problem- my left eye has perfect vision and my right eye is 20/200. I only use my glasses if I want to see distance.

I'd suggest you try using glasses/contacts or trying vision therapy or eye exercises if you want to improve vision in your left eye.

  3. Lazy eye is best treated before age 6, some improvement is possible with treatment between age 6 and 12,  little improvement is possible after age 16.  It won't get worse, just won't get better.

If eye doctors provided you with patching, glasses, exercises and it didn't improve, it is unlikely that anything further can be done.  Ask your eye doctor if anything else can be done.

  4. my friend had glasses but now he has contacts and is soon getting surgery so its basically like another eye sight thing glasses contacts or surgery

  5. ive got a lazy eye 2, but i have glasses that when i wear them it corrects it. or u can talk to ur parents about a cosmetic surgery where they strengthen the eye muscle.
