Help with my mobile phone contract?

Question

I have an 18 month contract with Orange in the UK.

I want an iphone. Is there any way that I could completely cancel my contract with Orange so that I could start a contract with O2 without having to pay off all of my line rental until the end of my contract?

Unfortunatly no. I've already looked into this with my contract when I wanted to switch providers. They'll make you pay up to $200-$250 just for their inconvenience of filling out paperwork. You have 6 months left, just wait it out, maybe a better deal will come along.

Another option is to see if the company you're with has the same or similar phone and if it's available for an upgrade to a new phone.

once you sign a contract with a company you most likely have to wait it out...

but ive never signed with orange ...
