Question:

Help with my mother in law.?

My mother in law recently accused me of child abuse with no specific example of abuse. My daughter has been to the doctor numerous times due to milk and soy allergies and has been hospitalized with RSV. No doctor has voiced any concern over the possibility of abuse. My wife thinks she's off base also. She's threatened to call the authorities (though at this point hasn't). I'm very hurt and angry by the accusations. There are severe consequences on my career if she pursues this. My question is: how do I get past this? I have to deal with this woman since she is my wife's mother, even though I'd be happy to never see or hear from her again. She is not the kind of woman you can talk to either (very defensive, denies everything, talks over you, yells).

  1. I would remove my daughter from visiting w/her...what's next accusation of sexual molestation... some ppl thrive on drama.... best you remove it for your childs sake .... im sure your wife would agree seeing how the children come first or should

  2. You have the child's physician's back you up. Easy as that. Documentation is everything. Be ahead of her on that.

  3. To cover your own assses, why not have the doctors write a requested report or letter for you to have to cover any alligations she may try and force?

Also, if you and your wife don't keep a clean house, I'd get on it and change the way you live!!

IF you work for a company that would dispose of you under false alligations, I'd even suggest getting a new job!!!
