  1. You have to try really hard each spin to push it down (this will help build up those muscles) - remember once you get that far down, it's not far to fall.

You need to make sure that when you bend your waist that your shoulders do not go beyond your skating knee. Your shoulders should be above your spinning leg midway between your hip and knee - that should help you tuck your bum.

You need a ton of speed in this spin in order to hold the position as well. You should have two snaps - one with your leading arm and one when your other arm snaps together with the lead arm. Your leg should snap together (with the toe pointed out) at the same time as the second arm.

  2. i think i can help!

well i have the same problem with mine but i hear you just have to get low with your foot straight and your arms out i know not that much help but well thats all i can really say.

    sorry.

  3. Okay, first off breath. You'll get it in time.

Shoot the ducks will help your position, but that is about it. Remember that Shoot the ducks only go in a straight line, so your back needs to be arched over in order to keep moving. In a sit spin however, the speed and centripetal force will keep you spinning in circles. So in your spin tuck your bottom in and try to straighten your back. Do not straighten it all the way, otherwise you will fall over. And the more speed you have, the more centripetal force there is, therefore you have a better chance of keeping on spinning.

Keep your weight over your left side, and your arms together and straight in front of you. Also squeeze your thighs together, and point your toe. At first do not worry about tea cupping (When your leg that is straight out wraps around your skating leg). Gradually build up the spin before perfecting it.

Your first couple of spins don't need to be very low. Gradually go lower and lower.

Sometimes you will fall over because your leg muscles are not strong enough yet to hold your weight. To speed the process of strengthening do squats (so your legs are like 90 degree angles) and shoot the ducks off ice.

By the way, sometimes people's tips (including myself) won't really help you do the spin. But hopefully it will give you the confidence and courage to keep on trying. Practice!

I really hope this helps. Good luck!

PS: Don't stress over it! It won't really help that way. :)
