Help with my xc coach?

I wrote him a letter about a week ago telling him i quit ( wrong decision )

so I'm wanting to join again 2 of the assistant coaches said they would love to have me back along with 4 other players that i was good friends with. Anyways i was going to go to practice tomorrow but am scared because I'm 99% sure the main coach does not like me you can tell at the way he looks at me! So should i or not? Could it be because i quit and he is disappointed in me or something

also how do i start up the conversation? and im not sure he wants me back either cause im kind of slow at 8 min a mile.

but the assistant coaches are amazing!

  1. Bad News:

if your coach hated you when you were on the team, chances are he will feel the same way when you rejoin, but if you work really hard to improve and show your dedication, chances are his mind will change

    BUT, the Good News:

    1. he can't kick you off of the team because he hates you

    2. if he is the ONLY coach that hates you, he won't be able to make your practices h**l because other coaches will notice and stick up for you

    3. your choice to rejoin the team is about you, not your coach or your friends, so if YOU want to rejoin, don't let your coach stop you

  2. if you want to do it than do it.

  3. Say this:

"I've been doing a lot of thinking lately, and I've realized that quitting the team was a huge mistake. I miss this sport, and I really want to rejoin the team. I have spoken to (insert assistant coaches' names here) and they said they would be happy to have me on the team. I promise to work hard and have a good attitude. Will you allow me to rejoin?"

And don't write this in a letter for God's sake. Tell him face to face.

Ignore the fact he might not like you. So what. That doesn't mean you can't rejoin the team.

    Good luck!

  4. just show up and tell him/her that you really thought about it and you realized you made a mistake in quitting

  5. If you want to go back, go with a friend that is on your cross country team and get in shape like stretch at home and stuff.
