Tricky question. There are the resources Peter mentions but the ecosystem of a coral reef is very fragile and depends on resource recycling to keep itself healthy. Its very easy to over-fish a reef for example. The reef itself is made from limestone and this is replaced very slowly. So resources are there in theory but exploiting them requires the utmost sensitivity and understanding.
