Help with name for akita puppy girl, 10 easy points?

Question

Its between 2 names now.

I just got this cute akita puppy, she is mostly black with a small heartlike shape of white on her chest and one paw is also white. her tail tip-white. her other paws are starting to show white markings also. she is a "bad-*** pup", i love her. shes cute, smart, insanely strong jaw, and boy can she make a mess and do stuff she isnt supposed to!!!

I want a name that sounds tough and powerful but also nice, not zoey, smarty, zeno, or anything like that. japanese or indian is good, with meaning, like Kiara, Squanto (xcept thats 4 a boy)...

I've narrowed it down to these 2:

Skylla:

which means "Tear and rend". myth name of a sea goddess resenbling a mermaid but having numerous ravenous canine foreparts.

Roxy:

Which means dawn.

i like skylla cuz its a name of a goddess and cuz tear and rend is what she does but i like roxy cuz she has kind of a roxy sort of face and it sounds good but so does skylla.

Please coment on those 2 and say why u would pick which. Also other names are welcome, if they have a meaning

I like the name Skylla, but I like what the name Roxy means: Dawn. I like Skylla the best though.

I have and Akita too and her name is Lesy.

I really like a name Lesy on an Akita.So maybe you can try the names u have or Lesy!

I really love the name skylla, it is a beautiful name for a beautiful puppy, ( I love akitas!! ) I think roxy is over used, and skylla is definitely one i have never heard of before

I love both names, but I think Skylla sounds more tough than Roxy. Here are my views on each:

Roxy: A very nice name and I love the meaning, but doesn't sound tough enough. I love it though!

Skylla: Very tough sounding, love it. I like how the mermaid had canine parts of her, that's cool. This is a very uncommon and cool name.

I don't know why but it almost sounds like you like Skylla better as well :P Good luck with your rascal.

Roxy is a REALLY cute name especially for an Akita =]  It's a name that goes with anything, you know what i mean?

i think you should name it roxy because i had a dog named roxy and she was a BAD DOG but i love her and we had to give her away so i miss her alot

Why do you dangle 10 points out there when you know not all of the answers are going to get 10 points.  Do you know how this system works.  If you don't, I suggest you read the guidelines.

I have in the past researched names for people sending site after site of names & I have never got the 10 points for naming a dog.  So I quit that & just tell people to do the research them selves.  Do a Yahoo search on puppy names & google it too.  There are thousands up on thousands of sites for names & puppy names too.

i like roxy cause roxy sounds big and bad but i like skylla because of the meaning and its a cute name but i think i would go with roxy or find a way to put both names in her full name.
