Help with neighbors bad dog?

I have 3 kids...my neighbor(just moved in)has 3 dogs...a roc a pit and a blue healer.She has them all in a 10x15 ft enclosure made of utility wire.Yeah...shes stupid.The pit took 3 days to figure he can get out...now he runs loose.Lunging at my kids if they go to the end of the road on their bikes.School starts Mon...out here the bus runs before dawn.Now I have to worry about them getting attacked .I talked to her today,I told that I do not mean to stereotype...pits are good dogs,but when they are aggressive towards children...they are a waste of skin.No dog who wants to bite a kid is worth living in my book,especially not in a rural subdividion.She told me if I wanted to see a mean dog she would let out her blue healer,she says he will attack anything and anyone.She is such a sweetheart....I told her not to threaten me and if any of her dogs hurt my kid,I was going to jail for assault.And I will,no doubt in my mind.So,here is my problem,Sheriff office says call property owners association,POA says call sheriffs office.We live out in the country there is no animal control.I do not like guns(I have 3 sons),not gonna have firearms in my home.All i have is a stun gun,2,500volts.Will this knock the dog out or just p**s him off?

If the stun gun brings down a human, it can bring down a dog. I'd have your kids carry a can of mace to be safe. As for the dog, you need to report it to the police and have them talk with the woman. If she refuses and gets away with it, jack her in the face. Thats my opinion. lol

How do you know the dog wasn't trying to PLAY with the kids?

Pits are known to be PEOPLE friendly and in some cases dog aggressive.When my dogs attack and play, it can easily be mistaken as a "attack".

Besides,Other dogs besides pits should be feared the same.

You told her not to threaten you yet you threatened her? hm.

If you feel that you are not being irrational, and you have a serious fear then call the sheriff and complain.

Don't stun the dog unless it comes on your property.

Pits have a high pain tolerance so it might not work but there is no definite way of knowing.

First of all if you shot you can get fined and maybe you should move and she is being an azz for threating you like that go to court!!!!! If your children get hurt she may get aressted or something and her dogs taken away!!

It will probably deter the dog.  You can also use pepper spray to get him away.  They do sell a stun gun specifically to deter dogs that is really a long rod so he can't get close enough to bite.

omy gosh this story is so similar to mine I just moved in and my neighbor lets her pit roam he seems nice but why should i have to deal with her PIT IN MY GARAGE! i get so pissed at these lame people! i dont know the dog i have my own, if i wanted a pit i woulda got one. LAMEpeople! have no manners.  KEEPCALLING BOTH PLACES. the association should fine her. to keep her dog on a leash!
