I usually play middle back and I want to get better at overhand serving, since I'm not very good at it now. Seeing as there is still a couple of inches of snow outside I can't practice out there. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!!

  1. When your serving make sure your toss is good.  Normally if there is something wrong with your serves it will be in the toss. Get it good and high and make sure its out in front of you.  If the ball is too far back all your weight will be too, causing you to not be able to follow through. Also contact the ball at a high point with a flat palm no fist.

  2. Practice serving with a pillow or other stuffed object in a safe area.

  3. WELL THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN PRACTICE PROPERLY WITHOUT A VOLLEYBALL LOL YOU COULD USE A REGULAR AIRED UP BALL BUT IT WONT BE THE SAME...AND I WOULD BE OUT THERE IN THE SNOW PRACTICING IF YOU WANT TO LEARN BAD ENUF...THIS KIND OF THING CANT BE TAUGHT IT TAKES PRACTICE

  4. when u do have a chance to be in a gym serve against the wall. for a good hit take these steps.

    1. keep the ball flat in the oppiste hand in which you serve.

    2. Throw it up so that the ball is on your serving hands side.

    3. make sure it is arms lengh away once you hit it.

    4. make sure you follow though straight down, not thrown like a baseball.

    5. once you have a gym serve the ball against it using those tips

6(you dont need to do this) for every ball that hits the wall and does not come straight back to you, 5 push ups.

of course that last one is from my coach

    need anymore advice email me.

  5. If you are right handed put your left hand on the bottom of the ball so the ball rests on it. Then put your right hand on top of the ball. Then toos up and make sure you hit the ball with the "meat" of your hand the bottom part. Flat hand no fists. Practice in a gym against the wall until it gets warm out.
