Alright so my room is a bit smaller than alot of other rooms. As soon as i walk in there is a wall with a big window. Then on the right wall is a smaller window.. the left is plain, and the one opposite the window is the closet which takes up pretty much the entire wall length. I wanted to do a pink & brown, but I'm not exactly sure HOW to do this. What colors would work best? Can you show me certain colors that would match? How should I paint this? Is pink& brown too babyish>? I'm 14 and going to be a freshman.

  1. I think pink and brown look very nice together.  If I were you, to make your room look bigger, paint the one empty wall (to the left) dark brown and the other 3 walls a lighter shade of pink.  Having one dark wall makes rooms look bigger.  Dark brown also goes well with baby blue or a lighter shade of green.

  2. well i had this problem a few years ago (i am a freshman too) and I was going to go with (don't ask why) baby blue, light pink, and light purple... thankfully i realized that when i got older i would probable hate it... i think pink and brown is ok, but just think about how you will feel on your 17 birthday... maybe paint the whatchamacallit wood things around the window pink and the walls brown

  3. Well I'm a senior and I've had my pink princess theme for 5 years! haha so make sure you're not gonna get tired of the color scheme you're gonna get.

First of all I'd suggest going to a hardware store like HomeDepot and grabbing bunches of paint samples, don't worry about matching them just yet. Just pick all the colors you like and go home and start the process of eliminating and combining.

Since your room is small I would maybe paint an accent wall, which is a wall thats a different color from the rest of the room. I think I'd choose the wall that is the biggest meaning one that has little on it, maybe the one with the small window. the color you choose for an accent wall shouldn't be way out there from the rest of the colors you chose because its supposed to make your room look a little bigger. The best thing to do is to paint your accent wall where your focal point will be which is usually a bed.

Pink and Brown is cute but painting a wall brown might be too overwhelming, you could paint 3 walls a darker pink and choose another pink thats a few shades lighter and use that as your accent wall. The brown could be incorporated throughout the design of the room. Maybe a little rug? or some brown in your comforter. you can bring in the brown with little things like pillows also.

  4. What about tracing shapes or a shape on the wall and painting them in the brown and all the walls in a light pink?  That would give great contrast on the walls and decorate at the same time.

  5. Pink and brown is a nice colour but if you get bored later on...you could always change it

  6. Small rooms need light colors. Dark colored wall will make the room look even smaller.

  7. Yous should try painting your room in horizontal pink and brown stripes. I know it might sound hard but it isn't. All you need is some painters tape and paint and you're on your way. This technique will definately lengthen the room to where it looks bigger than before. Hope this helps.

  8. Pink and brown are fine, if you don't mind a room that looks like a Baskin Robbins.

  9. I think pink and brown look really good together (if they are the right shades!). I wouldn't use too much brown on the walls because a dark color usually makes a room look smaller, whereas if a room is painted with a lighter color it will make it look larger. What I would suggest is to paint the walls pink, but do the trim of the windows, doors, and the actual doors themselves in brown. If you are looking to buy new furniture and stuff too, I would buy white furniture with brown accents, like a brown comforter, pillows, etc. Hope this helped.

  10. i wouldnt recommend pink and brown.

first of all youd get tired of it when you get older.  Like within a month. i got sick of my pink and purple room really quick.  and pink and brown is very middle school. your high school now! wooo!

seconds, your room is small and with dark colors like brown itll look even smaller.

instead, why not paint 3 walls white and 1 wall a bold, bright color. maybe a nice blue or a green

I painted my room 2 days ago and i did one wall bright red. everyone loves it!

  11. pick a brown that is not as dark as what you picture in your head (it looks even darker on a whole wall)  Paint the wall that gets the most light brown and hit the rest with a pale pink, it should be really cute.  I say just one wall brown since it is a small room.  If you want more brown try some pillows.  wall stickers are also getting popular so maybe you could get some brown polka dots or some other design for the pink walls.  I have seen these stickers at places like bedbathand beyond

  12. instead of "pink and brown" i would do a rose and chocolate.

the wall with the windows, and one of the adjacent walls i would paint rose kind of like this:

the remaining two walls i would do chocolate brown and rose stripes, kind of like this:

otherwise the brown could make the room look too cave-ish.

  13. I can tell you this from experience............when you put the tape up, like around the top of the wall so you dont get it on the ceiling etc, do NOT leave the tape on there too long caues if you do, when you take it off, the paint dries on the tape and when you rip the paint off, the paint thats on the tape will tear your just freshly painted wall.  Take off the tape as soon as you can.

  14. Ive painted by room, just paint it a color you knw you wont regret.
