Help with parcelforce tracking - 'awaiting customs charging'.?

I am waiting for my Wedding dress to be delivered from the States.

My dress was posted on 10th July with International express service from USPS. The dress arrived in the UK, going into customs on the 12th July (a week yesterday).

Ever since the 12th the status on both parcelforce & USPS sites has not been updated. I was concerned so on Friday called Parcelforce up. A 'search' was put out to try to locate my parcel, but later on I recieved a call to say it couldn't be found.

From conversations on the phone I know customs charges have been applied to my dress, although they wouldn't tell me how much they were.

From this I presume that customs have actually finished with my parcel?

Does this mean that my dress is now sitting somewhere in the international hub waiting for parcelforce get their backsides into gear?

Anyone know how the system works, or any advice on how long I could be waiting?

Big day is very very soon and as yet nothing to wear!

  1. I work for Parcelforce in the claims department (Boooo) and if you've got the tracking number ill have a look for you, it could have ended up in the 'lost and found'
