Help with passe compose?

Question

Is this correct? If I have to change this sentence, "Pierre et Jean se regardent." To passe' compose'. (I cannot make proper accents on this computer). Would it be "Pierre et Jean se sont regardes."

With the accent over the 'e'? Does the verb regarder have to agree with the subject? (Pierre et Jean)?

Also, any ideas how to give accents on an english computer while we're at it?

yes ,accent over the 'e'...and yes (Pierre et Jean) are treated as (ils) so you use an accord (s)......so the statement u said is right...i think

Phrase is indeed correct. the accent has to be the accent aigu (é)

Reflexive verbs (se ...) always use être, and with être you have to adapt the participe passé (regardé) to the gender and number of the subject(s).

To type accents you can use the ascii codes:

ALT 138 for è

ALT 130 for é

Hold down the alt button

type in the number

let go of the alt button, the letter should appear.

If you'll be typing a lot of accents it'll be easier to add keyboard shortcuts in your word processor so that for example shift + ctrl + e is é and shift + alt + e is è.

You could also change the language settings on your keyboard but it means you'd be hunting around not only for the accented letters, but also for punctuation and other symbols.

Edit: Oops, there are some exceptions to the agree-with-subject rule.
