Hi Everyone, My fiance and I will be going to Vegas on May 19th. We are CANADIAN citizens. We are going to drive across the border to Bismark, ND and then fly to Vegas from there. Same for the return trip. So my question is~ because we will actually be in the US when we take the flight, do we need to have a passport? we have government issued photo id and birth certificates. Is this all we need? Allegiant air said that is all we need but i want to be COMPLETEY sure so we don't get turned back after we are sooo excited to go. A passport wouldn't get here in time, so I am really hoping we will be okay. Anyone had this experience that can give me some reassurance? THANK YOU so much for any help! Kristine

  1. Since your flight is entirely within US, you don't need a passport. You will need picture ID and copy of birth certificate.

  2. That's all you need.  See site below and read section on "International citizens."  2nd site also confirms this info.

  3. You'll be fine without a passport.  You need to know though that starting next year you'll need a passport to get into the States.

  4. Yes that's all you need, government issued photo ID such as a driver's licence and birth certificate when traveling by land and/or sea as well as flying within the US

  5. You do not need a passport. I did the exact same thing when I need to go to Vegas and didn't have a passport. I drove to Syracuse NY and then flew to Vegas. You do need valid ID obviously but that is it.
