so the problem says determine the conversion factor between (a) km/h and mi/h, (b) m/s and ft/s, and (c) km/h and m/s. but i dont really get what theyre asking. any advice is appreciated. thanks in advance!

  1. They want to know what dimensionless constant you multiply one quantity by to get the other.

    For example, take 100 km/h.

    100 km/h -->  1.67 km/minute --> 0.0278 km/second --> 27.8 m/s

    So the conversion factor here is 0.278

    Take any speed given in km/h, multiply it by 0.278, and you have meters per second.
