can anyone, preferably an expert, recommend a list of plants that either grow year-round or grow according to season?

for ex: a list of plants that can grow anytime and actually live. through winter, spring, summer, fall

or a list of plants that grow in summer or in winter or in spring or in fall/autumn.

that would be great and also how to plant these in small pots?

  1. Please ask the question again, and give your location also or no one could answer this question.   Sorry, try again.

  2. It would help to know where you live.  Not all plants grow in all areas.

If you have "winter", in that is gets below freezing - you may not be able to winter plants in pots without either sinking them in the ground, moving them to a protected spot (like an unheated garage), or otherwise providing them some insullation for the roots.

Trees and shrubs live year round.  Which ones do well in your area depends on where you are.  There are also lots of perennial plants that grow every year, die to the ground in winter, and then grow again the following spring.

The best way to learn what does well in your neighborhood is to pay attention to what others grow in their yards, or even better, go to a local nursery or garden center and look around at what they offer for sale.
