I have a garden that has a lot of lawn and I don't want to dig it up for borders. I'm going to get some pots or troughs or tubs etc and plants some flowers in there. Can any one recommend any? I'd like some long lasting FLOWERS that look cheerful and bright. I'm in North-west England, so a mildish climate.

Thank you

  1. Roses bloom all tear, floribunda are best for pots. Also standard roses for height. For flowers that last all summer you need annuals, there are hundreds of them, go to the garden centre for your choice. bit late for that though now, unless they are in individual pots.

Another fave of mine is the brightly coloured geraniums, flower for months they will.
