I just received a phone bill with £400 spent on texting a premium number: 89027 . I don't recall texting this number yet there is about 200+ texts and received texts from this number. Who is it and how can I stop it happening again!

  1. You need text STOP in capitals to the number. Do you keep your bluetooth switched on? If you know you haven't sent these texts its possible you could have been bluejacked. What this means is somebody has put in an auto dialer via bluetooth into your phone which is remotely gaining control of your phone.

  2. OMG! noway! Have you entered any competitions via text? If so, it could be them. They seem to send texts and then charge you for it. Specially if it is an ITV competition you entered through text. You need to ring customer services and tell them to stop these texts coming through coz you have no idea. You should barr the number. I think theres a setting on phones to do that but then even if you barr it, it doesnt stop them sending and you might keep getting charged so I suggest you ring your customer services now and sort it asap b4 it gets out of hand and ask them if they can trace where they're coming from and if you can get a direct number for them, ring them and ask WTH they're doing.
