Help with present ideas..?

ive been invited to an 18th this sat. i dont really know the guy, hes good friends with my best friend though and he told me the guy said not to get him something, which of course means the opposite!! okay, what can i get him for about $20? i need to get him something, not just turn up to his party lol..

Gift card to the local Coffee shop

Gift card to local CD store or mall

Gas card! Everyone can use one of those these days and if he drives, he should appreciate it!  You can get him a simple Birthday card, tell him to have a great day and put it in there.

You can also ask your friend what he's into.  Being your best friend is good friends with him, you have a way of finding out some information about what he's into.  That should help you out!  You can find out if he's a fan of a certain baseball team, football team, etc.  Then you can personalize the gift a little more.  

Ask your best friend and if your friend says nothing, say you're going to anyway and you'd rather show up with something he's going to like and not something cheesy and please help you and his friend in this case!  You in picking out the gift and his friend in getting something he'll like!
