Help with questions about Big G Boxtops for Education and Campbell's Soup Labels fundraising?

My daughter's now ex-middle school is in dire need of some fresh fundraising ideas. The school has a large population of kids from difficult economic situations and most of the families just don't have money to cough up for things like festivals, gift wrap, candy bars, etc. I found out that in the 3 years the school's been open, NO ONE has taken on volunteering to help with Big G boxtops or soup label collection. I think this would be idea for this school, since the parents don't have to shell out any money--they need only turn in the labels from products they already use. I want to know if there are any Boxtop or Soup Label volunteers out there. How much time per week does it take up? What can I do to help it be successful? Any other tips? I've been to their websites and spoken to the principle--all looks good. But I have to go back to work also and need to plan how much time per week this will take of my time. thanks.

  1. I don't run the boxtops or soup label collection for our school, but I have talked to our committee chair & she says that it's a great volunteer position for a working parent!

You'll start out by getting the info out to the family schools - a flyer in the backpacks should do fine.

You might want to set up incentives within the classrooms, too.  Something like 'classroom that turns in the most labels gets a pizza party at the end of the year'.

Otherwise, you just collect them on a regular basis from the classrooms or school office.  And, then, sort, count & stack them in your free time at home.  Mail them in whenever you have enough & get that check to your PTO treasurer when it comes in!
