Help with research paper on gangs?!?

Question

So, I'm a Criminal Justice student who's taking a Prison and Street Gangs class. I have to write a 5-9 page research paper.

The assignment :"Must cover some aspect of gangs. A particular gang, gang member, gang activity, etch. Do not pick an overly broad topic such as the Bloods or Gang Crime, or one that is so narrow you cannot find enough sources."

So, my question is... Does anyone have any suggestions as to what my paper should be over? Like it says, nothing to common, but nothing so small that I can't make at least 5 pages out of it!!

Look up the lAtin kings or in general Hispanic or ethnic gangs.

Gang initiation would be specific enough, and you should be able to find plenty of info, including popular myths about initiation circulated by email such as shooting people who flash bright lights, exposing a piece of paper on the dash, or hiding under cars in parking lots and cutting the driver's ankles when they approach. When you settle on a topic, you can always go to fbi.gov to find awesome and accurate statistics.

You can do it on the evolution of some of the major street gangs in America such as the Bloods, the Crips, or La Costra Nostra.  Another one is MS-13.
