Help with school?

I have to make a hovercraft out of carbord in school. I have made it but i need to attach a motter to it but when i do the perpeller is to big. Do you have any ideas that will not make it way more but get the perpeller up and not block air?

You may want to use something like a Shoe Box, upside down and connect two small Fans with Flashlight batteries in "Series" Or even AA batteries for less weight. Let's think. If the computer fan needs 12 Volts DC. Then a battery is 1.5 volts. Placing them is Series is + to -, and it adds the volts, so, 12 / 1.5 = 8  You need 8 AA or AAA or D size batteries in series. Should work. You may try a 9 Volt (1 or 2) and see if they make the Fan(s) work. I would try to use 2 fans if you can find some. Similar to what we see in the link. If, they will run fast enough they should be able to lift your boat. It may require some experimenting and you may need to think about weight. But, I not there to help you, sorry.

Maybe someone else have something easier and can explain better. May need small fans like a CPU fan I not sure.
