  1. Buy a recorder and use it. Bring a glossary of common terms relative to that subject to that class. Don't be afraid to temporarily ditch your current textbook for a good one at the local public library. Some textbooks just aren't made to be understood. Collect many comparisons and examples. 99% of your best learning will occur in deep engaged contemplation, not listening to some guy ramble at the front of the class. Don't depend on other people to use their words to explain ideas for you.

Focus on your breathing and breath in deep during those stressful times. Don't care too much that you stress out. Don't not care too much so that you are still motivated. Focus on learning those definitions, and use your imagination with examples to understand unclear or abstract concepts more clearly.

Oh yeah, make sure you do the required reading before class. If you get in class and have trouble understanding, it's a sure sign you need to focus on engraving the concepts into your mind more at home.

  2. during class, write down every fact and thing that is important. even if you dont read it later, it still gets imbedded in your brain better.

  3. stay organized. be on top of things learn how to use shorthand. write your notes in pen so you'll be able to read them always. don't overdo yourself by taking all advanced courses. get sleep and plan having fun. it actually helps i'm a junior and i take two ap courses and a honors course and i am still able to have fun. GET A PLANNER. they are soo useful. if a teach repeats something IT'S IMPORTANT. [:

  4. Well, you can get really really good at Latin by using the free Latin Audio Course on Latinum, http://latinum.mypodcast.com

Latin will also help you with your Biology, as it will make it much easier to remember terminology when you know what the terms actually mean.

  5. I would suggest taking lots of notes and be sure to underline anything that the teacher says more than once. Most likely you will see it again on a test. I also suggest that you ask lots of questions. If there is anything that you dont understand be sure to ask about it.
