100 MJ of energy passes through a generating station every minute. What is its power rating?

  1. First, convert the MJ to J. Then divide it by the number of seconds in a minute.  This will give you the number of watts per second.  It will be a fairly large number.

    100 MJ = 100*10^6 J = 10^8J

    10^8/60= 1.67*10^6 W
