  1. That is rather confusing... it probably is meant just to test if you know what absolute values are.

    22 + 28

      50

  2. Yes, the absolute value is the distance it is from zero (use a number line).

  3. I'm guessing that you're confused by the | | sign.  This means take the absolute value of the number inside the | |, or the distance from 0.  For example, the absolute value of -4 is 4, because it is 4 away from 0.  The absolute value of +4 is also 4, because it is also 4 away from 0.

In this problem, the absolute value of -22(or |-22|) is 22, and the absolute value of -28 is 28, so your answer is 22 + 28, or 50.

  4. answer is 50.

since -22 is in an absolute value line things, it becomes positive and the same goes with the 28. so then you use the sign in the middle and do what it says, so it says to add. so 22+28=50 and so you simplify the  problem from that question to 50 :P

  5. " | -22| + |-28| "

you should get their absolute value

the absolute value of | -22| is 22 because in absolute value you need to simplify the expression into positive

the absolute value of |-28| is 28 like in the first equation you should follow the same procedure

then, perform the operation being asked

                         22+28 = 50

thats it hope to see you again soon...
