Help with sims 2 custom content?

Question

i've unzipped the files, put the opened files into the downloads file (i had to make one, there wasnt one there) in sims 2 under EA games, and allowed custom content on the actual game. why will it still not show up?

did  you  write  the name of the folder as  Download  ?

with a capital  and no s

are  you sure that the content  is actually  compatible with your game ?

as in you only have the base game and  your content is  designed for seasons ?

some  custom content doesnt play well with others and refuses to work when there are conflicts

are you sure you put the folder in the right place? there is more than one EA games file. It has to be under my documents>EA games>The sims 2 or it wont see it. If that is correct did you restart the game after enabling custom content... those are the only reasons I can think of that it wouldnt show up unless they used an expansion pack to make the content that you dont have
