Hi, i am stuck on my maths homework, we are studying simultaneous equations, and my question is;

3x+2y=7

2x+3y=9

I need to work out what x and y both, individually equal,

please can somebody help, also, I want working out, as I don't want to just copy,

10 points to first person who helps me, correctly.

  1. 3x+2y=7

    2x+3y=9

    first you have to solve for x on one equation take the second one.

    2x=9-3y

    x=(9/2)-(3/2)y

    plug it into the first equation.

    3x+2y=7

    (27/2)-(9/2)y=7

    -9/2y=7-(27/2)

    -9/2y=14/2-27/2

    y=-13/2(2/-9)

    y=13/9 or 1.44

    and

    2x+3y=9

    2x+3(13/9)=9

    2x+39/9=9

    2x=9-39/9

    2x=(81-39)/9

    x=42/9 times 2

    x=84/9  or 9.33

  2. y=2.6

    X=0.6

    Working:

    multiply first equasion by 2 and second by 3 for this:

    6x+4y=14. And

    6x+9y=27

    So...

    Subtract the first new equasion from the second and u get :

    5y=13

    So y= 2.6

    You can work out x easily from there

    U may have the question wrong like that other guy sed but who knows... This fits :D

  3. 3x + 2y =7 (1) *2

    2x +3y =9 (2) *3

    6x + 4y = 14 (3)

    6x +9y =27 (4)

    (4) - (3)

    5y = 13

    y = 0.38

    sub. into (2)

    2x +3(0.38) = 9

    2x +1.14 =9

    2x = 7.86

    x = 3.93

    hey, i think thats right,  hope its helpful to you :)

    x

  4. 145?

  5. x is 0.6

    and y is 2.6

    yes.. or x is 3/5

      and y is 11/5

  6. see my response to the first time you asked this question. I suspect you have one of the equations wrong and the 2nd equation should be:

    2x - 3y = 9. If you have made a mistake in the equation then go and see my answer where I've worked out that y=-1 and x=3

  7. 1st 1       x=1 n y=2( 3+2=5 so u need to add 2 so..2*2)

    2nd 1      x= 3 n y=1( "+"=5 so.....add six to make it 9 therefore 2*3)
