  1. The higher you pull up your leg the better it turns out. Also make sure that you pleah really low in prep, and also, in prep, make sure that the front heel is down and the back heel is up. Keep your arms in the same place and try to keep them as controlled as possible.

  2. ah hun try relaxing

  3. okay, i'm a dancer and i have the same problem.

work on a lot of abdominal exercises.

they give you a stronger center.

then work on trying to squeeze those muscles while turning.

also, your supporting leg has to be completely straight.

and for a final tip, in preparation, get a lot of balance and bend very low, and whip your opposite are around to give you that extra speed.

these helped me a lot, so hopefully you get those turns controlled!

  4. Put your elbows up as you turn. Have most of your weight on your front leg, if you're in fourth, but still have enough weight on the back leg to push off. Put your knee straight to the side as much as possible. Control, control, control your landing. I see tons of dancers at my ballet school wondering why they can't do pirouettes and making like the Tazmanian Devil, never landing cleanly. Spot! It really helps. You should know which way you're turning before you turn so nothing looks jumbled up like pirouefhlafkjalskhglajghusdfnisus.

  5. O.K.

When I was scholarship, I was taking a class from Tyce (Keith) Diorio. He had us go across the floor in socks. We had to do a single pirouette and fill four counts of music. That is extremely slow, but it improved my control tremendously.

FYI...If you can't control your singles, then there is no use moving beyond that. Doubles and triples don't count if they aren't clean.

    Good Luck
