I have mission fuels with "pitch3" runners that can adjust the pitch (-1,0,1). Can anyone tell me the advantages and disadvantages of pitch?

  1. the 0 is a standard neutral setting

-1 puts you back on your heels more

+1 puts you on your toes

i get my skates contoured to have me lean forward (equivalent to a +1 in pitch settings)

  2. well i dont really no but i can find out.

can you answer my question first.

it is that one about kenny ferback or fernback?

  3. Alright, the one thing that I will tell you is that for 99.9% of players the -1 pitch is not the best option.  The -1 pitch will put you on your heels and you can be caught flat footed a lot easier.  It also impairs your ability to start quickly and manuver.  When you go to power skating you always hear about a good forward lean, and the -1 pitch is doing the opposite.

The neutral lean is a possible option for many.  I grew up with Bauer Supreme skates and these basically have a neutral pitch.  They are a good all around pitch for power, speed, and agility.

The +1 pitch is also a good option.  This pitch puts you more out on the balls of your feet where you are fastest and most agile.  When I got to high school I have switched to the RBK Pump and that is equivalent to the +1.  It took me about a week to get used to, but i am glad i am using this pitch because i like it.

In the end it comes down to personal preference.  I would suggest the 0 or the +1(I favor the plus 1).  I wouldn't worry about adjusting to the +1 if you havent skated with it before because it isn't that big of deal, just give it a day or two.  Just choose what you are comfortable with.
