  1. An equation of a line can be written as

    y = Mx + C

    where M is the slope and C is the y-intercept

    Thus, the slope is -10 and the y-intercept is -9

  2. y=10x-9

    slope:10

    y-intercept:-9

  3. Slope and y-intercept are given for all slope/intercept equations.

    Slope/intercept form is:

    f(x) = mx + b

    where m is the slope, in your case -10, and b is the y-intercept, which would be -9.

  4. remember that y=mx+b

    b is the y intercept. so b "your y intercept" is -9.    to find your y intercept replace x with zero. so it reads 10(0)-9= ?     since 10 times zero is zero, then zero minus nine equals negative 9.

    to find the slope sketch the graph on a sheet of paper. use substitution to find the x and y coordinates. we already established that when x=0 y=-9,

    so when x= 1 y=1 when x=2 y=11, when x=3 y=21

    slope y2-y1/x2-x1      11-1=10    2-1=1         = slope is 10/1 0r 10

    the line has a positive slope... plot the points and you'll see
