Help with sound for new plasma!?

Question

i just got a panasonic plasma tv (TH-50PZ750U) and have a ps3, but now for the sound. will i be doing myself an injustice if i go with a panasonic home theater system (SC-PT1050) for bluerays, cable tv, and gaming? i'm confused about image up and down conversion and don't want to be short changing my potential. help!

.Well Denon's are great receivers I highly Recommend a Yamaha Receiver,  (Very user friendly)  I would also run JBL speakers.  I Have a Yamaha Receiver, Yamaha Up conversion DVD player,  JBL sub woofer and  JBL speakers and a Vizio HDTV.  

I run  HDMI cable to the Sat box and the DVD player.  When my friends and family come over they cant believe how great they sound.

I would go with Bose. Panasonic isn't bad, but bose is better.

It all really depends on your budget and your philosophy on audio.  Your television is quite a nice one, and depending on what you have left in your entertainment budget, I'd definitely suggest looking into some true hi-fi systems.  Panasonic makes a fine product, but there are several that will perform much better.  Bose and Denon also make a fine product, but there are also many that would outperform them.  If you have a dealer near you, check out a Naim system, especially one paired with Neat or Linn speakers.  Also keep in mind that two channels done really well is significantly better than a surround system done  fairly well.  If it's within your budget, you'll definitely be glad you went with something higher up, on par with your professional grade television.

get a denon receiver they are easiest to setup

and go with jbl speakers and a velodyne sub with a package like that you will get  phenomenal sound

just for the record Bose equipment sucks all their wiring is proprietary meaning it only works with their system and it never sounds as good in your home as it does in the store
