I have a 1997 Audi A4. I have changed what i think i might be getting after the comments i have heard from other people. An Alpine SWX-1243D Type-X 12" Car Subwoofer, Alpine PDX-1.600 600 Watt Car Subwoofer Amp (Mono), Alpine iDA-X300 Media Receiver, Alpine SPR-13C 5-1/4" 2-Way 270W Car Speakers, and Alpine Audio PDX-4.100 4-Channel Speaker Amp. How does this setup sound, will it work? Is it going to hit hard without that rattling of the trunk? What kind of box should I get for my sub? Also do you think I should get a new battery for my car since its kinda old?

  1. Sounds like you've got a good plan going.  When you say "hit hard" I'm guessing you mean loud and boomy.  You may want to go with a ported enclosure.  That will probably give you the sound you're looking for.  As far as trunk rattle goes, that depends on your car and how well it's put together I suppose.  You could also deaden the h**l out of it.  Or just weld is shut.

As for getting a new battery, is your old one not working?  If your old one is still working, no need to get a new one yet.
