I am having alot of trouble getting all the way down into spilts. I took gymnastics for four years so I used to be able to do splits. Then I started dance with a friend abou ta year and a half later and could still do them, but then I moved and moved dance studios and I cant get it. My teacher wants me down in the spilts by august first ( becuase we have a performance) and I have been stretching and trying every day but I just cant get it. Any Advice???

  1. well i practice holding my splits for 5 mins. each day.

you can sit on the floor on ur butt. and open ur legs. lift one leg at a time and make little circles with each foot then both feet. it minimizes one of ur muscles to help with the splits

  2. I have the perfect website for you. I give this to everyone who asks those "How Do I Get My Splits?" questions. Because you have already been able to do the splits, it might only take you 2 weeks. Trust me, i had the same problem about a month ago, and now i have it again because i have a severe injury in my hip, so i can't do the splits. But it took my 3 weeks. One day after school, i just said, ok, i am going to try the splits. Without stretching after school, i was able to just fall into them. I WAS SO SURPRISED! this website works, and to tell you the truth, stretching i the morning does nothing. stretch at night when ever you watch tv. thats what i did. heres the website

good luck! and never look at how far you are away from them or you think that you are getting no where, cause you are improving every time you stretch!

  3. Try rhythmic gymnastics.  It realy emphasizes flexibility and you should be able to do it in no time.  If there is not a gym in your area, try this:

Some of these are really out there, but you can see how they start their stretching routines.
