  1. First, there is no such thing as maxing out in acting school. You should be in class for the rest of your life if you are serious about acting. Kansas is not a great place to pick up an agent, so I would rely on local publications for opportunities in your area. Backstage East / West is a wonderful resource for finding auditions at your level, so definately look into that. Just to clear things up. An agent get's you AUDITIONS, you need to win the job, then they will negotiate the rate. A commercial is a great income maker, and will give you some exposure, but producers don't scout actors from those commercials. Being recognized from one in an audition will be a benifit to you, so it still will help in the long run. While you're deciding what your next move is going to be, get involved with your local theatre scene and beef up that resume with on stage experience. Good luck and stick with it.

  2. Your acting training should never stop. You will always be learning and there will always be more to learn. Even the best of actors have acting coaches.

One of the reasons why many aspiring actors never make it is because they think that once they get an agent, their work is done and for some, a small percentage, that is true. But for most, it is only a little help to get a few auditions here and there. This is often true because they aren't very good actors or because they don't audition well.

My friend there is so much more to learn!

Have a look at this page on my site for new and aspiring actors. It has 23 links to different pages that have to do with starting an acting career including how to get an agent, 17 things you can do right now to start your career, 29 different ways to promote yourself as an actor.
