Help with starting a collection 10 pts?

Question

i have never had a collection before can you give me any advice about collecting?

and if you know anything about russia answer these questions too

i am starting a collection of, things from russia basically:

so far i have a set of matrioshka (sp) dolls

a cheburashka doll

a cheburashka dvd

a wizard of oz book

and what i believe is whinny the pooh dvd, i dont have a russian keybored so i will spell it as best i can: BNHHN nYX, can someone please confirm that, that is infact whinny the pooh

also what else should i collect, books, dvds, music, what are your suggestions what is some things russia is known for that i could collect? any ideas would be helpful.

idk about the whinny the pooh dvd but u can collect things like:



*bookmarks

*stamps

*maps

*flags

*transportation guides

*stickers

*make up

*dolls

*currency (money)

*jewlery

*perfume/cologne

*artwork

*china (like tea cups and stuff)

*books

*clocks

*toy stuff (like cars etc..)

*antiques

*soaps

*passport

*concert/soap/ or some type of show opera tickets

Sounds like you're well on your way to having a collection.  The point of collecting is just to have things that you enjoy.  So, basically, when you see something that you really like, you just get it.  I have a bunch of small collections of different things.  One of the things that I have collected since I was a kid was strange and unusual coins and money.  Just collect and enjoy!!

I have lots of collections and for me an important thing to know first off was that there is no way you will ever have "everything" no matter what your collection is. Once you accept that then you are free to just collect what you want, whatever captures your attention.

I don't know about Russia but flags, maps, and postcards are all great collectibles. Just because something isn't labeled "collectible" doesn't mean it is off limits.

Ebay is a great place to start, don't buy everything but just the things that really fascinate you. That way once your collection gets big you can take pleasure in just absorbing it all.
