Help with stereo?

i have a 2000 lincoln navigator with an alpine stock stereo and it comes with a stock amplifier and a stock sub. the speakers are connected to the amplifier. i want to install an after market stereo. what will i need to do? would i have to rewire the speakers to the new stereo? will the stock amp and sub still work? HELP PLEASEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. if the factory amp is still working you will need to send a remote wire to it to tell it to turn on when the radio is turned on (its blue) or you will need to wire the speakers to the radio itself (but they would be under powered and as you turned up the volume they would be distorted)
