Question:

Help with swimsuits?

My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and her one breast was removed completely. She hasn't had a reconstructive surgery yet and she doesn't want to swim because of that. Is there any type of swimsuit that she can wear without anyone noticing that she doesn't have one breast? How will that be possible? Thanks a lot!

Good luck and may your mother do well.

  2. My mom is a survivor as well, and has not had reconstructive surgery.  Sure your mom can still wear a bathing suit comfortably!   Search on post-mastectomy products in your area or check with your area cancer center.  There is a very small boutique near where we live that has bathing suits as well a full line of bras.  I know some small speciality lingerie stores carry them as well.

If you live in the states and your mom is on medicare, she will get 2 bras a year and a new prosthesis at I believe it's a 3 year interval.

    Good luck!
