Help with sync on i pod nano

i had a ipod nano for some years witch broke and would only display a apple flashing on and off when connected to pc, however a friend of mine gave me his as he did not use it, is there any way to keep the music witch came stored on his nano as well as adding my library to it ?

No. You can save the music files from his Ipod somewhere on your computer. But as soon as you sync an ipod with a different computer to the computer that ipod had originally been using it will wipe it.
