  1. So you already know exactly what to say.  Thank you for taking me on a placement. I have found the experience useful however don't think I am cut out for this market sector.  What's difficult?

  2. Just very politely say that you don't think it's for you and you've decided to try other things.  I guarentee you won't be the first person to do the same thing.

  3. the generally accepted politically correct term for "go ***** yourself" is that "i've decided it would be best for me to pursue other career opportunities"....i can promise you he's heard it before and will know exactly what it means.....and won't be the first (or last) time he's heard it....and it doesn't make you look bad to other employers going forward.

  4. Tell your boss instead of just walking away that you dont like the job and you would like to try other things.

  5. I would say 'Thankyou, but I don't want to stay on after my placement is over'.

I would only offer a reason if he asks and then I would tell him the truth 'I find lettings very boring'.

There is no need to justify your decision further or take responsibility for how he feels about it.  Bosses don't usually worry about your feelings if they decide they don't want you there.

  6. If it was me I would just say you appreciate the opportunity and have valued your time in the placement but feel that the best thing for you at the moment would be to move on as you would not like to accept his offer only to leave a few months down the line.

The employer should appreciate your honesty and would be greatful for not messing him about.

  7. Thanks him for having faith in you and for the experience you have gained but after giving it much thought this is not the line of work you wish to follow.

  8. Tell him the position isn't challenging enough, that your talents would better serve the company elsewhere. Be prepared to say where, more than one place would be ideal and back it up with why your skills would fit into those positions. Don't worry about being polite so much as selling yourself. You are a commodity in the business world, one that only you can sell.  Good luck.

  9. just tell him that, he should appreciate your honesty, if your bored in your job eventually your performance will become impaired, so its better for both of you.
