Question:

Help with testimony...?

I need to talk to an unsaved relative tomorrow, and he feels that he can't be forgiven because he's done bad things. Also he doesn't regret some of the things he's done. But he believes. What should I say? He's my grandpa, by the way.

  1. When taking to him, express that the Lord Jesus will totally do away with his past no matter how bad he thins it is. You may wish to cite the example of the apostle Paul before his conversion. Paul had many Christians put to death and he was present when Stephen was stoned to death as he was the one who held the cloaks of those who were stoning Stephen and would no doubt have been urging them on to "finish the job"

I would further suggest that you be openly sympathetic toward the plight of your relative as he obviously doesn't understand the total forgiveness of the Lord through Jesus Christ. The Bible doesn't te us to be sorry for what we have done, the word repentance literally means to "change your mind" about God. The real cruncher here is that when you talk to him tomorrow, you may advise him that when Jesus hung on the cross, the Father poured out the sin of the whole world on Jesus which meant all your relatives sin as well and as the blood was shed, it forgives all his sn. What the Lord now wants him to do is to simply believe it and as soon as he has done so, he has eternal life at the very moment therefore, he need never worry again about his past as he now has no right to remember what the Lord has forgiven and forgotten. Simply start by telling him that all men sin as it is their nature to do so.

His assurance of eternal life is found in 1 John 5:13. God Bless

  2. dear, tell him that god is love. nothing more love... so, if we confess well, regrets on wat we have done, surely our lord will fogive us. tell him to confess and he will be forgiven

  3. If I were your grandfather you would get a beating with my cane. Sounds like he is old enough to know what is proper, and obviously you do not.

  4. He has to understand the concept of sin first. When he understands that, then he can get the rest.

Believing is not enough as Satan believes. A Christian must be willing to follow Gods laws

  5. Hopefully he is a humble man who is able to resist a false pride. Heaven is an unearned gift for all who are humble enough to ask for it.
