Help with the sims 2 PC game?

okay so i have the sims 2 with the free time, open for business, nightlife, university, bon voyage, h&m fashion stuff, pets, family fun stuff, and glamor life stuff. i just recently installed the free time expansion pack, but about 10 minutes into the game it will just freeze and then shut itself down saying somethig about the application crashing, the first time i thought "oh whatever just start it again" but everytime i play it does the exact same thing. is it because i have so many games or what? what should i do to fix it? reinstall?

Check to be sure that your video card is supported.  The requirements on the video card have changed.  If your card is supported look for a newer driver for your card.  Make sure you have enough room on your hard drive to play the game.  If you don't have enough hard drive space the game can't save or run properly.  Make sure you have enough RAM.

do you have all the latest patches?  The FreeTime patch has been released at least twice so far.

Any time I had really bad custom content, my game wouldn't load at all, so incompatible custom content may or may not be your problem, but it would be a good idea to get the latest CEP version anyway.

Of course while you may not have any bad custom content, you may have way too much.  Try removing ALL your custom content, and if your game plays fine then it will be up to you to determine if you have a bad piece, or just too much.  The guides linked below should help.

It might be that you have so many on your computer that it might lag or even crash, it almost might be custom content that you might of download if any. Sometimes things that you download will not be compatible with the other newer games.
