Question:

Help with the spelling of a German word?

I speak a fair amount of German but I can't for the life of me recall the spelling of a certain word.

My grandmother used to call it to us (my brothers and I) when we were little and we'd do something irritating or annoying; It means I believe to mess around, or to not do anything worthwhile.

I've tried many different possible spellings but I haven't heard the word in so long, so I keep turning up no searches on Google Deutschland or anywhere else.

I can attempt to spell it phonetically... It was something like pis-cürlingen.? I know that's not how you spell it, it's just how I recall it being pronounced.

Any help please on the proper spelling? Thanks :)
