  1. You can format the ipod by going into itunes, then going to the ipod, then settings, next there should be somthing there that says format or somthing related to that and it should delete the songs that are currently on your ipod.

To pick the songs of your choice go to the playlist where some of the songs you want are located, right click on a song and it should come up with the name of your ipod, then click on that and it shoud be syncing (this only does one song at a time) keep doing this for every song you want. They should appear in your ipod.

    Hope this helps!

  2. I've got a 1GB iPod Shuffle too, but it's really amazing how you can get 75 new songs after connecting to iTunes. You can delete them on iTunes by clicking on your Music on the left bar, and delete the songs one by one.

  3. By default, iTunes will automaticlly select songs and fill your iPod to the brim if its a shuffle. To stop this, plug your iPod in and go to the pane on the left. Click the down arrow right next to your iPod bar. Click on music and at the bottom, uncheck all the arrows. Then in your library, drag the music you want into the iPod pane

  4. Yes, you can add songs that you only want. What you will need to do is click on your iPod's name in iTunes. At the bottom of your screen you should see a box saying manually manage music, tick this box and at the bottom left hand corner of your screen you should see apply, click that then. You can then click the triangle pointing to the right on the left-hand side of your iPod's name. Then by clicking with the right-hand side of your mouse you should be able to click delete on the songs you don't like. If you want to delete more than one song, like an album hold down shift and the down arrow, then by right clicking you should be able to delete them songs. If you want to add songs from your library, drag them into your iPod's name. Again if you want to add more than one song hold down shift and the down arrow into your iPod's name. Hope that helps.
