Okay, so I REALLY hate my hair. Its shoulder length, naturaly wavy and thick with side bangs. I want it to look more like scene hair or something, and I do have a straightner, a flat iron.(My second straightner I had to buy cuz my other one didnt work as well) But when I do straighten it sometimes and I go to school, it curls when its humid or had just rained and is cool outside.

Ive been dealing with this c**p for a while and I really need help..

Thankkss. :)

  1. i also have very thick wavy hair....i struggled with it for a very long time untill i was about 25 years old infact. I have learned that there is nothing you can do about the humidity (on humid days i just scrunch with some gel and go) but i ended up cutting my hair real short. like up to my chin. with a cute cut and thinned it out alot. I also got a chemical straightner put in it. i have to update the straightner every 2-3 months. My hair has grown out now and since i cut all the dead stuff off and started fresh it is more manegable. i keep it thinned out and chemically straightned and it works great.

  2. Alright, here's what you need to do:

Before you straighten your hair, blow dry it straight first.

Learning to blow your hair straight is kinda tough, but its something you get used to.

Put a de-frizzer/straightening serum/heat protectant on your hair and blow dry.

Part your hair into 4-8 sections, depending on how much hair you have and take one section down at a time and carefully apply the straightener.

To keep it from poofing, once you're done try using a pomade, rub it ON YOUR HANDS FIRST, and emulsify it and then kinda shake it through the strands and spritz on a hair spray that will de frizz it.

You say you want it to look more scene, well the pomade will add the scene texture you're looking for. Perhaps you should consider adding a few layers or maybe some color to it, ya know, make it more scene-y!

And, if all else fails, cut your hair off.

    It's what I did.

  3. get layers or get your hair cut short!

  4. get layers in ur hair to thin it out and u could buy some humidity control cream to rub in your hair before you straighten it. hope i helped

  5. buy a CHI by farouk will be the best purchase of your life!  i use to hate my thick wavy hair too..

  6. I am going to make some product suggestions for you. It may be that you are trying too hard.

Try leaving your hair alone and see what happens.

CLEAN START use this one a month

MOISTURE LOC SHAMPOO (this 90% coconut oil shampoo will restore your hairs’ moisture level back to its optimum 8%)

MICROPLEX CONDITIONER & TRI PROTEIN CONDITIONER (mix these 2 together for a great treatment OR for every day use, Use the Microplex)

Bio-plus LEAVE IN CONDITIONER ( a great liquid leave in conditioner, that will make your hair shine, and NOT weigh it down)

    JELLEE (great for WET SETTING)

GLITZ (SILICONE FREE spray  on shine and anti -frizz product)

GLOSS (scrunch this into dry hair, for removing frizzes and adding shine)

    BIO-GEL MOUSSE

STRAIT TIME non chemical hair relaxer (great for FLAT IRONING)

    Frizzy Hair Tip.

For extremely dry frizzy hair that is hard to manage, you can mix a small amount of Razzamatazz Microplex Conditioner with some Razzamatazz Jellee or leave in conditioner and apply evenly to your hair and use as a leave in styling/treatment.

  8. well to avoid your hair curling up when you straighten it then dont straighten. Blow dry it with a round brush then curl it. you already have curly hair so your curl will hold well. i know curly isnt the common scene hair but hey you can rock it be a little different. and if you want it to be loner then youi can go and buy some synthetic hair at a beauty supply store. heres a pic of a girl with curly scene hair

it looks really cute. or if you do decide to blow dry it then get a product thaat helps with humidity, like "Paul Mitchell" Super Skinny Serum. that works good. you can buy it at any professional salon or Beauty Supply store.

    hope this helps.

  9. i have that too.before you gop for a totally different style you need to get familiar with a straightener and products.try before straightening spraying your hair with hair spray its simple but it can help.when you have thick hair you have to keep it long and layered.(i learned that the hard way)as gross as this is going to sound, you also cannot wash it everyday.every other day wash it and then blow dry it dry.

all these do make a big improvment.
