I'm having trouble finding the resistance of my torch bulb , it's rated 3 volt and 500mA.

V=IR

R=V/I

R= 3/500mA

R=3/0.5 A

Therefore resistance in the torch is 6 ohms.

Can someone tell me if i am right about this and if i am wrong please explain.

  1. I agree you are right!

  2. yes, it is about 6 ohms. BUT, resistance of any light bulb varies a lot with temperature, as much as 5 to 1. So if you checked with an ohmmeter, it might read 1 or 2 ohms.

  3. U R Right!!
