There's a screenshot for a practice sat question that seems to have me and a couple other people I asked stumped. Can someone please help? It's Alg II.

  1. The answer is E.  You first take the 3 and 1 and treat it separately.  Then use that answer as (answer) and 1.  Kinda hard to explain.

  3. The answer is E 183

    What you have to do first is to understand the expression. x (triangle) y is the expression that = x^2*xy*y^2

    All you have to do is order of operations which means find out what the one in the parenthesis is which is 3(triangle)1, plug that into the x^2 equation to get 13.

    Then take the 13 and plug it into the other new equation 13(triangle) 1, and solve the x^2 to get an answer of 183
