  1. Just add 1/2 and 2/3 and put an X after it.

  2. (1/2)x + (2/3)x  I am assuming the question is this instead of 1/(2x) + 2/(3x)

You need a common denominator.  Multiply the 1/2 by (3/3) and multiply 2/3 by (2/2)

    (3/6)x + (4/6)x =  (7/6)x or (1 1/6) x

  3. In order to add fractions they need a common denominator.

    1/2x = 3/6x

    2/3x = 4/6x

    1/2x + 2/3x = 3/6x + 4/6x = 7/6x

  4. I am assuming that your problem is to add

    1/(2x)  +  1/(3x)

if this is the case, first factorize 1/x

    1/(2x) + 1/(3x) = (1/2 + 1/3) (1/x) and then simplify

                         = (3/6 + 2/6) (1/x)

                         =  (5/6) (1/x)

                        = (5/(6x))

Asking for the simplest form of anything is mostly a matter of taste so ...
