  1. She needs to call the rail folks and explain the situation.    People in an online forum would have no voice in this matter.

But  an exchange should be no problem.

  2. she could ring up the train people and explain.

or im sure if she spoke to the ticket people at the station on the day she could get away with it

  3. If it is an advance purchase ticket for a specifically timed train printed on the ticket, it is not valid on any other train.

  4. Best thing to do is give it a go, really it's the same journey that has been paid for. Good luck

  5. depends what type of ticket it is, if its an advance purchase ticket, you will have to go to the Travel Centre ticket office before boarding the train as you will need to pay an excess on this ticket.

If its a walk up fare, standard open single/return, business saver, saver/single/return, cheap day single or return, then you can travel back earlier, go to the travel centre if she has any doubts.

  6. Only if that ticket is a round-trip ticket, if it's not she have to buy another ticket to go back.

  7. It depends on what type of ticket she bought. There are only certain higher price tickets that can be used on any train. Most are specific to a certain jouney on a certain day. If she just got a Standard ticket, I would say the answer would be no.

The best thing to to is contact the ticket vendor, it might be that if it's not useable, they can change it for a small fee rather than having to pay out for a full price new ticket.

  8. she can exchange it at the rail station. Just do it today. Tomorrow it will be more expensive

  9. It depends - some are open return (although this will have a specific train printed) and others are only valid for a certain train. Best thing to do would be to speak to someone at the station and if needed they can change it, they will probably charge a fee for this though as the train companies are robbing b******s !
