Hi,i'm looking at going to the England v Kazakhstan games with a few mates (i'm 19) on October 11th,There's just so many things i'm not sure about i thought i'd ask on here.Firstly do trains and coaches run to london as normal this day.

Also if i was to stay in pimlico (for family reasons) is it easy to get from here to wembley on match days and how?

If not where are recommended areas to stay so we can watch the match and have a good night out after with ease? but would rather stay in pimlico.

Any help with travel,or places to go at night or anything about this weekend for the match would be great.Thank you.

  1. Hi, yeah as far as I know the trains and buses will work normally on 11 October.  Do check closer to the time though, they like to go on strike which means you'd need to find alternative means of transport.

Pimlico is a really nice area in Central London, from there it would be quite easy to sightsee in central London as well (Big Ben, London Eye, Buckingham Palace are all very close by).

As for getting to Wembley Stadium, you would just need to take two trains - the Victoria Line from Pimlico to Green Park, then the Jubilee Line from Green Park to Wembley.  The whole trip should take about 45 minutes.

To find tickets you need to pre-register at thefa.com.  Make sure you do this, as you need a "FAN" number to buy tickets when they are released, and they don't issue the FAN straight away.  The FA website will also tell you when tickets are going on sale (if they haven't already).

If you can't get tickets to the match, most of the pubs in London will show it.  The better ones to watch sport are the Walkabout at Temple (along the river), or there's a big sports bar near Piccadilly Circus.

    Good luck!
