  2. Learning how to tread water is fairly easier to learn and get the hang of. There are several ways of doing this.

The best method eggbeater. You move one leg in a clockwise circle and the other in a counter clockwise circle.

Another method is whip kick. You will bring your feet together bent behind your but and whip them around.

There is also vertical dolphin kick. You move your hips back and forth and make a slight bend at the knee.

Here is the scissor kick. The easiest.

You should be moving your hands at all times.

  3. it might...try doing the "beater" kick, that is how i do it. well more like how i first learned it. beater kick is basically doing figure-eights with your legs

  4. I've noticed that people tread water differently. What is most comfortable for one person is not necessarily the easiest for another.

Try to remember the whole point in treading water: to keep yourself afloat as long as you can with the lowest possible amount of effort.

If you know how to swim, try just swimming like you usually would...but make yourself stay in one place. You will have to relax your movement a bit to keep yourself from swimming away, and eventually you should be able to fall into a rhythm and adapt to save yourself energy.

As long as you find a way that works for you, then that is all that matters. Good luck...have fun!
